Another recipe that we were blessed with last night was Kristi's Favorite Sugar Cookie Recipe. Her family makes these every fall for our Thanksgiving Service. You have probably seen these festive leaf-shaped cookies before and enjoyed their yumminess! Here is the recipe for you:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
Mix powdered sugar, margarine, egg, vanilla and almond extract. Mix in flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Roll our 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes. Bake 375 for 7-8 minutes.
~We cut with leaf shaped cutters and frost with muted colored powder sugar frosting for the Thanksgiving Service.
