American Toast?

I am thinking that maybe I should re-name this recipe, Make Ahead American Toast, or Make Ahead Thanks Toast...I am open for suggestions.  It just doesn't seem like we should be eating something French on Thanksgiving morning.  Not that a day of giving thanks is solely an American thing, but Thanksgiving is a celebration of God's hand in the history of this country!  So, perhaps French Toast is not the right title for our traditional Thanksgiving morning breakfast.  Whatever the title, its still a treat.  The beauty of this recipe is that it can be made the night before and the oven does all the work in the morning!  Here it is:

Thanksgiving Morning Make Ahead French Toast

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 t. cinnamon
10 slices of white bread (French, Sourdough, white...)
8 eggs
pinch of salt
2 cups of milk

Melt the butter
Pour butter into 9 x 13 pan
Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon
Layer the bread onto the sugar mixture
Beat eggs and salt and then add the milk
Pour egg mixture over the bread
Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
Cut into squares and place upside down on a plate

Thank God for His blessings, and enjoy!
