Consecrating Our China...

On Wednesday night Kathy R. lead us in a discussion of Chapter 5- Hospitality in the Home. Even though a home is not necessary for hospitality, it is often what we think of when we think of the setting for hospitality.  The authors call our homes "A place for refuge and center for evangelism..."  So,  we looked up lots of good scriptures on Christ as our  refuge and then verses on our call to evangelize.

  • I think it was Kathy that pointed out that relationships are opportunities and our homes are the perfect place to share Christ because of the opportunity we have to serve others and be an example of healthy relationships.

  • We also looked at people in the word that are examples to us, such as Abraham, Lydia, Priscilla and Aquila and Mary and Martha.

  • Lastly, we talked about the section in the chapter called,  Consecrating Our China for Our Master's Use.  This is basically consecrating our tools used in hospitality as a symbol of our lives, thoughts and hearts being set aside for the Lord to serve Him.  We can do this by praying for those coming into our homes and for the events, dinners or gatherings that we have in our them.

Oh...and we enjoyed LOTS of yummy treats as we celebrated Debbie M's birthday.
