Lilias Troter: Part One

Hello Ladies.  Here is your homework for the week. Thank you Dani for all your preparation for this Wednesday night.  I am looking forward to it!

HOMEWORK for Lilias Trotter (pg's 40-54)

PROVIDENTIAL PREPARATION

Question #1- As you think back on your life, what God-ordained circumstances, hardships, relationships, etc. were used to prepare you for what you are doing now? Or, be prepared to share the "stepping-stones' that led to your conversion.

PURSUITS/PASSIONS

Question #2- How are we to pursue our hobbies, talents, professions? With what intensity? How much time and energy should be expended?

PROBLEMS (with reaching people with the gospel)

Question #3- pg. 52 "No, He does not love the women, only the men" These are such sad words!! What caused these women to believe this? How has the gospel of Jesus Christ and it's influence corrected erroneous views of women?

Question #4- Do you think it was a legitimate activity to conduct embroidery classes to reach the Algerian women?

Would it be a sound practice for the church to offer music lessons, carnivals, or other "social" events to make contact with the neighborhood?

ART APPRECIATION EXERCISE

*We will spend 10 minutes or so "experiencing" art. (FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!!)

*Please be thinking this weekend how "your heart for beauty"(pg 42) is most easily reached:

Through music, poetry, nature, or visual art?

*Try to do something creative before Wednesday and be prepared to share!!
