John Calvin-Part One

Hello Ladies, It seems everything for this year is beginning to wrap up!  Its not quite that time for us though, so lets persevere and end well!  We will be discussing part one of the chapter on Calvin this week.  The pages that we are reading are 90-111.  Dianne will be leading us and she would like us to also read through Psalm 119 and pick a few verses to use as a prayer before we read the scripture.  Also, she would like us to be ready to answer questions #5, 8 and 10 below.  Until Wednesday.....:)

1)         What, in your opinion, most stood out to you in this week’s reading?

2)         How did the time period in which the subject lived affect who he was or what he did?

3)         Briefly describe the testimony of the person that this chapter was about.

4)         What legacy has the person in this chapter left to us?

5)         Is there a particular area of your life in which you were challenged by this week’s reading?

6)         Is there anything in the person’s life that you recognize in your own?

7)         Can anything covered in this week’s reading help you in your pursuit of Christian contentment?

8)         What is the person discussed in this chapter’s most admirable quality?  What is his greatest weakness?  Did God use either of these?  How?

9)         Was there anything not covered in this chapter that you would have liked to know about the person being discussed?

10)       Please bring one topic or question to discuss in this week’s discussion.
